Bikini Death Race

Anglo-Italian mash up of a Yorkshire girl, in the cat mask, and an electroclash devotee, in the panda mask, from Rome, takes this ‘can do’ attitude to music and has created an album, called Party Animals, that plays like an absurd and surrealist comedy of senseless beauty. With simple melodies, seemingly played on a Casio keyboard, such as which were popular to kids now of a certain age, driven along by psychotically hypnotic drum beats Bikini Death Race sing songs of bewildering lyrical content, like a 21st century nonsense poem by Edward Lear, songs that scare and disturb with their deep black humour. This ain’t lullaby music for all its poetic lullaby qualities; well not unless you want to give baby nightmares.Inspired by The Ramones, Le Tigre, Kap Bambino, Crystal Castles, Tuxedo Moon, Ladytron, Depeche Mode, Cock Sparrer and… Ace of Base!Check out their music/news/merch here:

Garage Blues trio from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire. They originally formed as a duo on Halloween in 2013, while drummer Ben was dressed in a rice bag with a sack on his head. Guitarist and singer Jonny was dressed as himself.Over a hundred gigs around the UK and France, a self released EP (2014’s ‘This Week’s Been Hell) and many many parties followed, to great reception (they really can drink…). Highlights included support slots with Little Barrie, Holy Mountain, Go!Zilla and Kill it Kid.

Strangers and Freaks is an EP full of hooks, melody and energy. It tells stories that are sure to break your heart (Hannah), as well as keeping the northern cheek and sense of humour that Knuckle have built up a reputation for (The Dole Years). There are alos the aforementioned sweet harmonies, thunderous drums and guitar tones to make you weep. Listen to the full EP here
